Playdate Masters With Soundsmiths

Part party, part mastering session, it was a blast getting to know Playdate's Josh Rhinehart and Parker Gray in February. We were joined by mix engineer Jim Georgeson who had created a perfect foundation for finishing touches.

We began the session listening to Kraftwerk and some other old-school electronic material for reference, and gradually segued into Playdate's songs which are a fusion of contemporary electronic beats and rock textures with earnest 80's-ish lead vocals.

When it was over, they had a new master! You can hear the result of the party, er mastering session, on Playdate EP-001 on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, or CD Baby.
